Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

This therapeutic approach is a form of depth psychology that encourages one to explore their interpretations of mental and emotional processes in order to gain insight that will alleviate tension and conflict.  The positive therapeutic relationship is essential to facilitate this process.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a highly effective technique rooted in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  I use this technique more broadly to treat any present-day “re-living” or repeating emotions, behaviors, thoughts/beliefs, or somatic experiences.

Sandtray

Sandtray is a creative, explorative, and expressive technique that I like to use when words are not enough to express your experience.  Images and symbols can be a more powerful, safe and liberating way to find your narrative. It is often used in child therapy, but adults also find the experience fun and engaging. 

Mindfulness

Mindfulness meditation is a practice of awareness to your body and internal experience to be fully engaged in the present.  I use mindfulness techniques in session to help clients build tolerance to their more intense feelings and build a self-dialogue of compassion, acceptance, and kindness.
